Composite Slate Roof Tile

If you're looking for the incredible aesthetics of natural quarried slate roofing and want to avoid costly substructure modifications required to handle the extreme weight of slate tiles, Brava’s revolutionary composite slate tile is for you. Old World Slate is available in 12" standard slate and 6", 9", and 12" multi-width slate sizes.

Arendale

Choose your own adventure with Arendale Slate. Inspired by the vibrant coastal city Arendal, dark charcoal and gray hues come together to create a shade that complements any color on your home.

Atlantic

Like the dark, stormy waters of the open ocean, Atlantic Slate brings in a blend of green, brown, and black that appear in quarries along the coast.

Cottage

Cottage Slate is the perfect blend to transform your roof into a rustic focal point with a warm, comfortable mix of grays and browns.

Graphite

A sleek, gray hue with accents of swirling white highlights, Graphite possesses an allure that commands attention. Reminiscent of polished stone, it embodies modernity with subtle depth.

Light Arendale

A more muted version of our stormy Arendale Slate, Light Arendale features more gray tones for a lighter palette.

Onyx

Much like the stone it’s named after, Onyx Slate is a deep, luxurious shade of black.

Washington

Washington Slate pulls inspiration from the rainy state: a cloudy, dark mix of gray and black, with a hint of lush, vibrant green.

European

An enduring spectrum of gray and purple tones, evoking the spirit of ancient structures and expansive vistas. This refined palette radiates sophistication and timeless allure, capturing the grace inherent in European aesthetics.

Pine Green

A rich, deep shade mirroring the lush foliage of evergreen trees. Pine Green exudes natural vitality and tranquility, capturing the essence of serene forests and timeless elegance.

Tuscan Clay

Tuscan Clay Slate's warm brown color captures the beautiful tones of fall foliage in the Sonoma valley.

Victorian

Victorian Slate draws from the rich, elegant earth tones of early victorian-period architecture for a dignified look.

White

A crisp, sophisticated shade of pure elegance to complement fine textured slate. The pristine white tone is reminiscent of a fresh snowfall, creating a cool feeling for any modern home.

Deep Green

Deep Green Slate is a rich green, reminiscent of evergreen forests, rare emeralds, and the deep sea. The color green is omnipresent, and we’ve chosen the perfect shade to match your home.

Gray

Gray is simple, but it isn’t bland. It’s classic because it pairs well with almost any tone and is enhanced by the colors around it. Gray Slate will never go out of style.

Welsh

From the Roman fort in Segontium to Westminster Hall, Welsh Slate transformed architecture in the 19th century. Recreating the look of Welsh slate is not easy, but we think we’ve nailed it with this blend of charcoal, blue, and green.

If you're looking for the incredible aesthetics of natural quarried slate roofing and want to avoid costly substructure modifications required to handle the extreme weight of slate tiles, Brava’s revolutionary composite slate tile is for you.

Slate Roof Tiles Product Profile

With a 1” profile, Brava’s Old World Slate polymer tile has the volume of traditional slate roof tiles with a fraction of the weight. This allows for less expensive shipping costs and ease of installation. Our Old World Slate shingles have the thickest synthetic slate roof profile available. The 1" thick profile of this product creates beautiful color exposure and an unsurpassed durability. Our composite slate roof tiles are available in any custom color or color combination.

Environmentally Friendly Roofing

Our synthetic slate shingles are made of recycled plastics (polymer) and other fully sustainable materials. Our eco-friendly composite slate tile is the ideal replication of slate roofing. Brava’s composite roofing product is an extremely attractive, durable, and the environmentally friendly alternative to concrete roof tile or slate roofing systems. Installing composite slate roof tiles is the best slate roofing alternative.

Slate Tiles Durability

If you're tired of dealing with the costly maintenance and repairs required for your natural slate roof, our imitation slate roof tiles are your best alternative. Natural slate tile is fragile and requires lots of attention throughout the years. Chips or cracks can lead to costly repairs, and finding a color match for replacement slate shingles is next to impossible. Brava Old World Slate roofing shingles are Class 4 impact rated (the highest in the industry) and hail warrantied. Brava Old World Slate is also available in Class A or Class C fire rating.

Brava Slate Roofing Accessories

Brava's synthetic slate roofing has solid tile accessories to make gable and labor-intensive valley installation a much more complete system while also providing a realistic appearance.

TRADITIONAL SLATE ROOF COST

The high cost of materials and installation of a slate roof may deter many homeowners. The total slate roofing costs per roofing square (100 square feet) range from $1200 to $3300 — the most expensive roofing material on the market. Material costs for a slate roof vary greatly depending on the durability, color, and thickness. The most attractive and sturdy slate tiles can cost a staggering amount of money — three times more than a lesser-quality-slate tile. The range in installation costs generally represents the expertise of the roofing contractor. The longevity and performance of a slate roof depend on proper installation by an experienced contractor specializing in slate roofing, which will cost a homeowner more, but is essential to the roof’s success.

SLATE ROOF TILE MATERIALS COST

The cost of slate shingles ranges from $500 to $1700 per square, depending on the durability, color, and thickness you choose. The expense of slate roofing reflects the dangers and difficulties in mining the stone, and the labor-intensive requirements to manufacture the slabs into shingles. Natural-slate tiles come in two types, hard and soft. Hard tiles are more durable, but you pay for it upfront. Choosing the less expensive soft-slate tiles will cost you more over time on repair and replacement in order to maintain your slate roof’s integrity and beauty. The cost of slate tiles also varies based on two categories of color: weathering and permanent shades. Over time, the exposed surface of weathering shades will change to grey, brown, or rust. Permanent shades do not fade and can cost up to 25 percent more than weathering. The price of slate tiles increases with each thickness: standard ¼-inch, rough ¼ to ⅜-inch, architectural ⅜ to ½-inch, heavy ½ to ¾-inch, and the most costly, estate, at ¾-inch. It is important to know that other materials, like underlayment, drip edging, and special tools, will add an additional $100 per roofing square.

SLATE ROOF INSTALLATION COST

Labor costs can vary based on the slope, pitch, and size of a home’s roof. However, the tiles’ weight and the need for an expert slate roofing contractor for the installation make it more expensive than the installation of most other roofing materials. Labor costs to install a slate roof can range from $600 to $1,500 per roofing square. Installing a slate roof costs more than other roofing products because it weighs 800 to 1,500 pounds per square, making it difficult for workers to handle. Furthermore, the weight of slate often requires extra structural support to the home or building. The fragility of slate makes it prone to breaking during and after installation, particularly if walked on. A cracked or broken slate tile requires immediate repair to prevent moisture infiltration/damage. It may be difficult to replace a natural-slate-roof tile with a perfect match because of the uniqueness of each lot of slate tiles.

COMPOSITE SLATE ROOF COST - A COST-EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO SLATE

If you're tired of dealing with the costly maintenance and repairs required for your natural slate roof, our imitation slate roof tiles are your best alternative. Brava composite slate roof costs are going to be comparable to their natural counterpart, but in the long run, you will save money by installing a synthetic roofing product. Brava composite slate is not only energy efficient, it is far more durable than quarried slate, and requires virtually zero maintenance. Our synthetic slate roofing tiles can be installed in any climate without concern! Synthetic slate roof tile prices will vary depending on your property and location.
